Ah Chuan Oyster Omelette
Its dinner time and I ordered $8 worth of oyster! Yes you heard me, its a huge amount! Firstly, I love the tangy taste of the chilli. So hot and sour, turns your taste buds on! The egg is not very gooey and a little charred smell added a whole new dimension to the dish. Oysters were of reasonable large size, 3/4 of my thumb size? I'm a oyster fan and I'm glad I ordered a Gargantua serving. So head down here if you are nearby to taste the oyster sensation!

Daikokuya Ramen Dining
Yes, today I went to "update" myself on Orchard Rd. The changes were great but i still managed to recognize the prominent places such as Tangs, Wisma & Paragon! I knew the basement of Paragon had stuff to fill my stomach, so I zoomed off immediately! As above, after a 20 min wait, the waiter called my HP and I was assigned a seat. Service was fast, responsive and courteous. After flipping through the menu, the finalists were Mini Sapporo Shoyu Ramen, Ikakimchi ( Spicy Squid), Salmon Sashimi.
The ramen was average as I tasted better ones before. Ikakimchi was a tad too spicy if you can't take strong chilli and chewy. Lastly the salmon was as per normal, nothing to shout about. I guess I shouldn't place too much hopes on the salmon as its after all a Ramen Dining place. On the overall, nah, once is enough for me. I feel there are better places out there for this price!
Stay tuned if you wanna see the "Mega Ramen" at Raffles Place! Sayonara!

Drunken Dang Gui Roasted Duck
E-Fu Noodle
Mango Pamelo Sago
Canto Kitchen
Its a pleasure having dinner with my Makan buddies which I met over in Shanghai over here in sunny Singapore! Today's theme is Canto! Yeah, you heard me right! Remember those TVB dramas you watched day & night till your eyes pop? The menu was made up of 2 A3 size paper! We had a hard time choosing as all of them looked really yummy! Firstly, my faveourite was the duck! It was awesome! Crispy skin coupled with the Shaoxing wine, it will rock your taste buds to mars. You got to try it yourself to experience the "out-of-this-world" sensation. The soup was like sharks fin texture, coupled with scallops and crab meat, it shines out too! Vegetables was as per normal, needed it to supplement our meaty diet! Haha! Last but not least is the E-Fu noodles. Nice texture, not too soft but chewy at the same time. Taste could be stronger but its good enough for my dinner! Ohh yes, went across to Mosque street to have sweet dessert!
So don't waste anymore time if you are a Canto Cuisine fan. I will definitely be back to clear the remaining dishes! Hmm...more duck for me!

928 Ngee Fou Restaurant Yong Tau Foo
Located along the shophouses along Thomson Rd, the aroma of the fried Tau Kee could not escape my food smell detectors. The sauce on the Yong Tau Foo was not very salty, good, can taste the natural flavouring of the individual items and yet bring out the overall satisfaction in your lunch. Order by just informing the waiter how many people you brought along. The items would be picked accordingly. If not, you can specially tell her what you like best and she will spam you with it!
The dumpling soup was not bad, slightly above average. Good to have but not necessary.
Listen up ! Do not be fooled by the neighbouring shop which sells exactly the same thing. It is FAKE! Overly salty and the taste of MSG is like the dried up Mediterranean sea. So look out for the yellow sign board which says "928 Ngee Fou Hakka Yong Tao Foo.

Seremban Beef Noodles at Marine Parade
Surprise surprise! Yup, this hidden treasure is one really to die for! Especially if you are a beef fanatic. Well today's order was 1 bowl of beef meat noodles and 1 bowl of beef briskets. The briskets were thick yet tender, to my surprise, there was quite a bit given for such a small bowl! Value for $$$! The chewy bits were the best bits of the whole bowl of noodles. You can choose between rice and noodles for the "rice pail" out there! The Boss is a old man probably in his 60++. Hardworking!
Enough said, go try it! Nothing beats the real stuff in your mouth!
Beef Meat Noodles : $3.50
Beef Brisket Noodles : $3.50

FLOR Pâtisseri
Being a Japanese-styled patisserie serving authentic Japanese inspired French pastry, situated in the midst of Duxton Rd, you just want to spend the whole afternoon sipping tea and of course delicious pastries. The place is cosy and the staff were so friendly in taking your orders. The Green Cake above is Wakakusayama (若草山). Its made up of matcha cream piped onto a swiss roll of honey-infused green tea roll and FLOR's own red bean cream. I just love the aroma of the green tea as it accentuates into my mouth. Hehe! Not too sweet so its just nice on the dot.
The conical shape dessert is actually Chocolate Pudding チョコレート プリン. Yellow pudding forming the lowest layer, followed by a mixture of fresh cream and sponge in the middle and chocolate mousse on top, finished with chocolates and raspberries on top. Interesting contrasting flavours with the raspberries and chocolates. Yummy and sweet!
Last but not least is the Hibiscus Tea in red. Its really leafy and fruity in a sense. There was minimal sweetness in it and I don't mind having that for every meal! In total I spent about $17 on that afternoon. Do check it out if you have a craving for sweet treats!

南翔小笼包
Yes we finally arrive at our China franchise in Singapore! Hopefully it still taste the same when I first ate it in Shanghai 陈皇庙. Located in a prime area in Singapore, prices are not close to what you pay for in Shanghai. Lets roll on to the main stars...
Firstly, the pickles presented there were lightly drenched in the usual vinegar. Not too strong yet sour enough to start your stomach engines. The jellyfish in spicy vinegar was my favourite! As you know I'm a sucker for sour foods and that was just it! So all vinegar fans out there, this is one dish you can try! Nah, spicy not really, but it really was sour enough for me!
Hmm, feeling drunk? Take on the Drunken Chicken if you dare! Its really drenched in alcohol and you could be caught for drink driving after having a meal at 南翔小笼包!Wasn't a fan of that dish as the alcohol was too overpowering. Next! The minced port 锅贴was average in my opinion. Stay tune for better 锅贴 in the next few weeks! I already have the target in mind!
Last but not least, the main star of the day! 小笼包! I ordered both the crab meat and pork versions of the dish. Hmm, the soup inside was well retained but it doesn't just give that "OMG" expression in me! Ohh well, wasn't that legendary after all. Anyway its a nice experience to have a feel of the local edition of 南翔小笼包!
Well seriously if you ask me, I still preferred the 小笼包s during my random walkabouts in Shanghai, maneuvering in between tiny streets, eating beside the busy roadsides and small zinc roof shop houses. Taste wise, they are unparallel! Fly to Shanghai on TigerAir to satisfy your cravings!

Red Hill Food Center
Yes! Finally I'm back for awhile on my foodie webby! Went to my usual Sunday lunch haunt at Red Hill. Firstly, I had my favourite Hainanese Curry Rice. The pork chop was fresh fried when I got there. Waited for about 5 mins I guess and then I got my mouth watering curry-pork-veg-potato rice.
Not feeling very full there after, I set my eyes on the Fried Tau Kwa stall. I missed it the other time as I couldn't find it. Today I had no excuse! Got 2 Tau Kaw and 1 Neo Hiang. The Tau Kwa was crispy on the outside and softilicious on the inside! It had a little sour tau kwa taste, perhaps due to the water it was soaked in? Together with the chilli sauce, it was yummy tummy! The Neo Hiang was not any lesser off. I guess the crispy skin got me hooked! The meat was not overly salty, just nice! Enjoy! Hawker food lovers can join me next time! =)

Tian Tian Chicken Rice
Rated as one of the best chicken rice in Singapore, here it goes! Crowd on a Saturday was still ok. Waited for about 10 mins before I placed my order. The usual formalities were presented to me. Stuff like "Half Chicken" and "油菜". Pricing was $12 for half a chicken. Being a Hainanese Chicken rice stall, the sauce was good just that it was a little on the tough side for the meat. Well perhaps I tasted chicken that were more tender than this. For $12, it was average for the amount of meat given to you. If you ask me, yes this is a cut above the average coffee shop Chicken Rice (CKR) but still somewhat lower amongst the legendary chicken rice hall of fame.
